Getting Started
What is OptiLink?
OptiLink lets you create custom link previews (social cards) for X, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Reddit. You upload an image, set a title and destination URL, and get a short link. When someone shares your link, platforms display your custom preview instead of a generic one.
How does it work?
1. Create a card by uploading an image, adding a title, and setting your destination URL. 2. Share the short link (e.g., optl.ink/AbCdEfGh) on social media. 3. Platforms show your custom preview; visitors who click are redirected to your destination.
Which platforms are supported?
OptiLink works with X (Twitter), LinkedIn, Facebook, and Reddit. Any platform that reads Open Graph or Twitter Card meta tags will display your custom preview.
Cards & Images
What card types are available?
Summary Large Image (1200×628) — recommended for most use cases. Summary (800×800) — square format. App Card (800×418) — includes app store links. Player Card (1200×628) — embeds video or audio. Free users get Summary and Summary Large Image; Premium and Business users get all 4.
What image formats and sizes are supported?
JPG, PNG, WebP, and GIF up to 5MB. Images are automatically resized and cropped to fit the selected card type dimensions.
Can I change a card's image after creating it?
No. You can edit the title, description, and destination URL, but the image is set at creation time. To use a different image, create a new card.
Do my cards expire?
No. Once created, cards remain active indefinitely, even if you downgrade to the Free plan. You can delete cards you no longer need at any time.
How do short URLs work?
Each card gets a unique short URL on optl.ink (e.g., optl.ink/AbCdEfGh). When a social platform crawler visits the link, it sees your custom preview. When a regular user visits, they're redirected to your destination URL.
Plans & Pricing
Do I need a credit card to sign up?
No. The Free plan requires no payment information. You can create up to 10 cards per month at no cost.
What's included in each plan?
Free ($0) — 10 cards/month, Summary & Large Image types, basic view counts.
Premium ($9/month) — 100 cards/month, all 4 card types, full analytics, API access.
Business ($29/month) — 500 cards/month, all 4 card types, full analytics, API access, priority support.
What counts toward my monthly card limit?
Each new card you create counts as one. Editing or deleting existing cards does not affect the count. The limit resets at the start of each calendar month.
Billing & Subscriptions
How does billing work?
Premium and Business plans are billed monthly through Stripe. You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time from your Billing page.
What happens when I upgrade?
The upgrade takes effect immediately. Stripe credits the unused time on your old plan and charges the prorated difference for the new plan on your next invoice.
What happens when I downgrade?
The downgrade also takes effect immediately. Stripe credits unused time on the higher plan and charges for the lower plan. Your card limit adjusts right away.
What happens when I cancel?
You keep your paid features until the end of your current billing period. After that, your account reverts to the Free plan. Your existing cards stay active, but you won't be able to create new ones beyond the Free limit.
Can I get a refund?
Contact us at support@optilink.media and we'll review your request on a case-by-case basis.
API
Does OptiLink have an API?
Yes. Premium and Business users can create API keys from the dashboard and use the REST API to create, list, update, and delete cards programmatically. Authenticate with the OptiLink-API-Key header.
Is there a rate limit on the API?
Yes. API endpoints are rate-limited per user to prevent abuse. The card creation limit still applies — you cannot exceed your plan's monthly card limit via the API.
Account
Can I change my password?
Yes. Go to Settings in your dashboard to change your password. You'll need to enter your current password for verification.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. Go to Settings and scroll to the Danger Zone. You'll need to enter your password and type DELETE to confirm. If you have an active subscription, cancel it first. Account deletion is permanent and removes all your cards, API keys, and data.
